Im in the process of making a refugium for my system:D
I think it all depends on where it will be situated? the room you have how your system is set up. The cheapest way is prob to buy a tank of ebum or something like that then get it drilled etc it all depends on how you want it so more info would be good
    hth cheers

i would prefer it to be a hang on as my cabinet could only hold a small tank.

I was going to go hang on as They sell them on ebay quite cheap!
saves all the hassle and prob will be as cheap! They do them in different sizes too, but if you want to make it Id suggest searching on the net for pics info on refugiums and design your own first as you need to find the best way to pump the water through the refu and back into the tank without risk of overflowing, and to get final sizes for glass etc. If you want to make it let me Know and ill explain how im doing it if you want to get an idea:)
    hth cheers

i have a percula 120 and ill be having a massive FUGE for it. because i simply do not want to drill my tank. ill just have a 1,500 lph pump , pumping out of the tank into a 3x2x1.5ft tank above my main display tank. and this will have 3 compartments. 1 in 1 refugium 1 out . simple as that. im having my tank made.

deffinatly worth having a fuge and im glad u relise manderians need lots of pod life etc so youve done ur research not only will it feed ur manderians but also other fish and inverts in the tank. i wud havee it up a running for about 5-6 mounths before you introduce the manderian.
