    Default Gobies Tail fin....

I have had this Orange spotted sleeper goby for about 4 weeks now, and over the last week it looks like something has had a go at his tail fin on more than 1 occasion!
The only thing i can think of is the electric blue damsel, as he seems to be a bit of bully, although i havn't seen him go for the Goby yet.
Do you think that a blue damsel could do this to a goby?
Just so you know, fish in the tank are:
    1x Coral Beauty
    2x Percula Clowns
    1x Electric Blue Damsel
    1x Yellow Tail Damsel
    1x Orange spotted sleeper goby
    1x Algae Blenny

Here are a couple of pics of his tail fin, first one you can see that there is a little part missing and the second pic shows that quite a big part has gone:

Hi it looks more like a crab has been at it when its been asleep, see if you can see where the goby sleeps and watch for crabs when the lights have been off for about an hour. HTH Twiggy

Hi its probably had an infection in the tail wound and passed on, hermits will only eat dead stuff thats why they are CUC. I would set a trap and see what you catch, set it at night after lights have gone off, then watch the tank about 1 hour later with a red lens on a torch and you will be surprised what you see. HTH Twiggy:D:D RIP poor little Goby

Yeah he hasn't been as active over the past 2 days so it sounds about right.

Hi you can a make a trap out of a old glass jar, a long thinnish one will do. Tie some fishing line or strong thin cord around the neck of the jar, then put some bits of Mussel or Cockle in the jar and lay it on the bottom of the tank propped again a rock at about 45 degree angle so that what gets in cant climb out as it slips on the glass. Then when you catch it lift the jar out with the string, if you dont get anything in leave the jar in overnight as you will probably catch nothing for a few days. You will most likely get some hermits and snails in but tip them out and start again, but be patient as its a slow game sometimes. HTH Twiggy:D:D
