Im probably wrong here, but they both look like some forms of xenia.

On the first pic if the polyps are comming from within the vertical piece then it would be a form of gorgonia if not then Im guessing some form of xenia.

The second pic "Piglet called it a Flower Pot Coral" I thought flower pot corals reffered to Goniopora. If thats the case then this is not Goniopora but again a form of xenia.

I would love to do a swap with you for a piece of this type of xenia ... I love it I think it looks fantastic. I collect xenia and have about 6 different types of it so far.

I'm with Mike and agree that they appear to be two different kinds of xenia. I especially like the first one and have to say you've got two nice pieces there.

P.S Mike any pics of your different varities?

They both look like some forms of Xeniidae. This is quite a good read on Xenias http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-0...ture/index.php

    Thanks all for your replies.

The fella i got them from said he "thought" the first one might be some kind of sea pen, but as soon as i saw it open up i guessed it was either a xenia or maybe a star polyp on an odd shapebranch. It's is also encrusting.

The second one, i honestly didn't have a clue, but i thought it looked nice :D

I also got these from him :) The last pic was just a little freebie :)

Can anyone aso confirm my suspitions that the circled on the second pic is a zoa? Just that i've not seen one with edges like that before.

Nice corals, i hate to be the bearer of bad news but i think the blue grey sponge on your rocks in the last pics is a baddie. Apparently the only way of getting rid of it is to bin the rock in mention otherwise it will take over all your rocks and cover anything on them.
