Hi all,
Just getting around to doing my plumbing. Never done this before so was wondering what the best way to do this so that all the pipes and joints match up to the holes in the tank from start to finish?
Cheers,

cut all the measurements etc and dry fit it first then when you are sure of layout solvent weld it together this way you dont waste anything. remember the more bends etc that you have the less the flow rate will be. double check your measurements as well before you cut. maybe draw a plan of how it will be then that way you will know where you are. hope it all goes well:D

Thanks Ed,
It's the measuring/sizing bit that I am concerned with. How best to do that, especially when you get to when you have to match the pipes to the drain/return holes?

you could try numbering them all wit a permament marker and with the measuring bit just double and triple check before you cut the piping. its not as difficult as it sounds if you have it all planned out. remember to measure the bits inside the joints as i have forgoten to do it before and it is annoying when you have wasted a good bit of pipe. what size tank are you plumbing? what diameter are the inlet and outlet hoels?
Ed
do as sugested fit it all together on a dry run,you only need to solvent weld the pressure pipes.derek

shouldnt be too hard then as long as the pipework is all the right diameter. sounds like a very nice tank wish i could ahve one like that but unfortunately college fine you for having a fish tank in your rm grrr stupid people

Hi Campbell as said cut all your pipe to length, and dry fit it together then mark it with a marker pen so that you get the right angle when you glue it up. Make sure you put solvent weld on both pipe end and inside the fitting then push together and its stuck but make sure the lines you made are lined up. HTH Twiggy:D:D
no i got fined 20 quid for havinf a 6 litre tank in my room apparently would bring down my 6 x 2 x 2 but just sold it on ebay so that out of the questions. one of the second years had a reeftank last year complete with ro unit etc plumbed in 2 the pumbing. i think that may be why they dont like them lol.
