fish death mystery

Can anyone give me some ideas as to whats happening to my fish all seem healthy eating but over the last 2 months ive had some mysterious deaths !!! befor ethey died they looked healthy eating and swimming around the next day come home from work dead????:confused: first to go was a fairy wrass next was an anthias just disapeared then 2 weeks later an alans damsel dead on the bottom of the tank the other three gone not seen now for 2 days:confused: mandarin fine yellow tangs fine cromis fine :confused: all corals healthy

Do the deaths happen at night? - PH swing?

Are there any marks/blemishes on fish - Crab?

You dont have any air freshner that comes on ?

hard to say if they die at night as all the lights are out when i leave for work we do have them plug in air freshners that come on every so often :eek: could that be the one ian???? no marks at all and all four damsels disapeared at the same time:confused:

Hi,

Air Freshner could be the culprit, think about the amount of air your tank takes in, via gas exchange and skimmer - its a fair bit.

Turn the blooming thing off ;)

Hi Andy that and hair spray is the worst stuff going for fish, plus cat flea powder or spray. HTH Twiggy:D:D

quite possible some contaminate could have drawn into the water possibly by the skimmer,very hard to pinpoint the exact cause.derek

cheers guys as a precaution air freshners turned of !!!!!!! and have told dan to ease of on the hairspray lol and the flea powder :D:D:D
