Since my tank isn't drilled, I'm planning to make a couple of overflow boxes. Hopefully if I've got two, if one gets air trapped in it, it won't be a disaster. I was planning on making something like this
http://www.melevsreef.com/acrylics/overflow.html
However, I'm a bit stuck on bending the acrylic. The only thing I can think of to heat it up enough to bend would be to bring my hot air SMD rework station home from work.
Anyone think this will work?

dont see why not just like a toilets u bend lol and they dont empty out uness you want them to lol :D
6x2x2 with 4ft sump, 2x naso tang (1 blonde 1 black), 1 emporer tang (purple sailfin), 1 powder blue, 1 regal tang, 1 yellow tang, 1 bluespot tang, 1 scopas tang ,1 unicorn surgeon fish 1 foxface, 1 copperband, 2 scooter blennie (male and female) 1 blue cheek blennie 2 pink skunk clowns hosting nem thinkthats it lol
looked at these on several sites and there mode up of flat single piece of material bonded together, that way no bends, check them out on fleabay.
why not get the tank drilled and save the hassel of overflow boxes, when i first started i had them fitted and they were nothing but a nuisance so i got my tank drilled.derek
66ins by 60ins by 37ins deep. fish stock 7in moorish idol,9in blue face angel,6in blue face angel,6in regal angel, 4in powder blue,1 pair flame angels,3 bellus angels,12 alleni damsels,4in cleaner wrasse,1 pair red sea clowns, 1 Pair of wild percs and 1 Pair of black percs,1 fire clown,1 red sea clown, 2 orchid dottybacks, 3 yellow tangs,2 heteractis magnifica anemones,1 heteractis crispa, 2 red bubble tips.
To drill the tank, wouldn't I have to empty it though? Even if I could get away with just lowering the water level, I only have about 12" of clearance between the tank and wall, so it'd have to be drilled from the inside out...

I know a few people that have drilled tanks stocked LRS do it or mine does so might be worth getting them to do it so they are insured if anything goes wrong all id be worried about is the glass dust getting into the water cant be good for the fish and other livestock IMO
good luck

Hmmm, now I'm confused :)
I have everything around the house to make a couple of overflow boxes. I'm tempted to make them anyway and see how it goes. However, if anyone with a glass bit wants to have a go, feel free to come on over :)

OK, I've never played with with sort of material before, so don't flame me for my poor attempts :)
Bending the stuff is quite easy. I've learned not to try to bend it, but just keep heating until it bends under it's own weight, then hold it in position until it cools down.
