hi all, its been a while!
after selling my last set up in the summer ive been thinking long and hard and decided to set up again in the new year.
im on the look out for an aquamedic chromis tank which im gonna turn into a little project, after a bit of input please...
tanks gonna be drilled for a sump, id like to drill the tank bottom with a flow and return with an island of rock surrounding it, now a pipe to just below the surface would take care of the flow but how could i return the water without soaking the ceiling? or if i angled the pipe with a 90degree bend how could i stop water syphoning back in event of a power failure? failing this, the rear of the tank will have to be drilled with a wier infront of the pipes.
onto the sump, the dimensions for the cabinet are 650m/m high,375m/m wide and 415m/m deep..
all im after in the sump is to obviously return water! grow chaeto/caulerpa and maybe a top up chamber, 3 compartments any ideas on a design would be greatly appriciated.
im hoping the skimmer can be housed in the cabinet or sump, filteration will be live rock only, with chaeto/caulerpa in sump. no dsb or mud, just a sprinkle of sand in the tank and sump.
fire away
tia
steve
