Default diy flouro lighting / frag set up

am currently planning to have a small frag set up in the outhouse. probably 3 frag tanks each 36" x 18" x 12" (ish) which i will be making myself out of acrylic (probably), connected to a dbs and chaeto, skimmerless sump. two of the tanks will probably be lit by 4 t8's each. what i would like to know is, what's the minimum amount of ballasts i could feasably get away with if i diy'ed it? is it possible to have 4 or even 8 tubes connected to a single ballast?

note to self...."look probable up in thesaurus...."

Presumably if the ballast is rated for 4 to 8 tubes.

Why not go T5 instead. You can get the ballasts and endcaps from most electrical wholesalers, so are just as easy to DIY.

You would be better having single or twin ballast as mulitple tube ballasts are usually linked to each other so if 1 bulb blows then all lights will go out:D I can PM you a link of where to get cheap ballast and endcaps from:D
