    Default Live rock - Building

As some know, im going to remove my undergravel filter - which means my tanks gonna get ripped apart so i figured this would be a good time to "Plan my rock building" and get new Sand substrate as my crushed coral gravel isn't very nice.. so anyone got any ideas/solutions?

    Cheers.

Depends how hi tec you want to go. Some use loads of reef safe putty and or reef safe rods which drilled rock sits on. I just went for the throw it in and mess around until reasonably happy. Just remember to try and leave room at the back for good flow and plenty of room around the front and sides of the tank to allow for glass cleaning. Try to make a few caves this always looks good. Have fun and basically, you will change your mind constantly throughout the life of you tank anyway. I've yet to speak to a contented reef keeper ;):D

As above mate just play around with it,thats the fun part of reef keeping sorting the aquascape, personaly ive got mine stood on reef stage made from koi filter grid (cos my tank is so big and i aint got enough rock to fill the thing)
and ive gone for a central rock pile with swimming space at either end :D

on a platform of koi plate and loose with caves, if you stick them together there will always be one you want to move.

i just put live rock directly on the tank bottom and build up.mine is stuck together with milliput but you could just loose build in case you want to change at a later date.just cover the bottom with some coral sand no deeper than half an inch thick should do.derek
