I have a clown fish that has been in my tank now for about 10 months and has pretty much got used to living on his / her own. He used to hang around with my regal tang but since he went to highschool he hasnt really found another buddy. My YT and Bi colour hang around together and my manderin and firefish are pretty much solitary characters anyway. He's kind a out on his own.
Question is do you think he / she would be happier with a companion or is it now to late to add another to make a couple? Would it stress them? Is it advisable and why or why not? :confused:Just wondered:)
Tank is 150 ltrs, no other fish only s/fish, cuc etc. Dont have a nem as i run streams:eek:
IMO after 10months it would be very dodgy!!!! they may be ok right from the off or they could kill each other straight away id ask Moorish(derek) he has a lot of clown fish and would be better to advise you HTH:D
Thanks mate, tbh i thought that might be the case but needed to know for sure, hope someone will confirm. Thanks
I think if you got a clown that was either significantly larger or smaller (by 50%) then they would get on and enjoy themselves.
regards,
Greg

you would need to purchase something smaller than your resident clown and make sure you have plenty of cover for the fish to hide just in case the larger one attacks it.i have done it before with little trouble but there is always a risk the larger one will kill the other.derek

Good advice chaps thanks, probably best not to upset things i think the best idea will be to leave him to be happy as he is as im quite attached to him now and maybe ill get a pair for the next tank when i get the green light. (wife wants a new house first so could be a while!) Thanks all Ovesk8
