    Default moving house moving tank?

Hi am moving at the end of july and wanted to check how I was going to move everything was ok, I have been given some advice from a diff forum and wanted to check it was right.
Fish would go into a plastic lined polystrene box (not in bags but with water straight into box) I would put some ammo lock in the water, corals would go into a large plastic container wrapped in a couple of layers of bubble wrap, lr into plastic boxes again same as fish, I am taking 80% of the tank water and topping rest up with a fresh mix, journey is going to be approx 3-4hrs, Once at new place I will put water into tank get temp up put lr in then corals then fish and leave lights of for 2 days. Does this sound ok or not
    Thanks

Hi If i were you i would put the fish in salt buckets wrapped in bubble wrap, put 2 fish in 1 buckets with about 6 inch of water. Using poly boxes is a bit dicey as they can leak and if you have a leak while your moving it wil be a nightmare. Your rock will be ok in buckets as well, and corals in your plastic box will be ok. Dont feed the fish for 24 hours before you move them as this will purge them and they will produce less waste in the containers for the move. Throw the water what you have transported your stock in away as it will be polluted, also if you do a 25% new water change that will be fine. When you get to your destination make sure the fish are all ok, they may be laid down but as long as there breathing dont worry. The start up your new tank etc and put your rock in first then add the corals and fish last, leave the lights off for 24 hours to let them rest and then you can switch the light on and start giving them a bit of food not to much about half of what you normally give them and gradually give them more over the next week or so. Hope everthing goes well and you have a good move. HTH Eric:D

good luck with the move,i prefer to use plastic buckets rather than boxes which can damage easily.taking most of the water is a good idea, then just top up with fresh water.the rock would be ok in poly boxes rather than buckets.derek
