Hi Laura,
looking good, why the algea?
ATB
Adam put it for me to give it a boost of critters before the live rock is added.
It was full of pods
Ahh, good idea. :)

Just to butt in, but I've got a Q.:D
Salt water in for 2 days, well aerated and parameters up to spec.
Liverock moving approx one metre! so minimal die off:D
Would you expect to see a cycle?
Common sense is telling me no, but I would like some thoughts.

Very much doubt that you'll see a cycle. You could almost take the view that what you are doing is exactly the same as a tank upgrade/downgrade. When we set up the 7g mantis tank we simply moved in the liverock & sand we'd been maturing in the sump of the main reef and added livestock the next day. No spike in parameters were detected and everything we put in is still alive 6 months down the line.

On the question of a cycle, I doubt it very much.

Hi nice tank saw one just like it on Sat:D :D :D,
On the cycle thingy my tank had been set up about six weeks when I doubled the LR from a very mature system and not a hint of a spike I also put the live stock I had inherited along with the other tank,
tested twice to three times a day :D HTH.
Or was I just lucky,
Rob.
