Yikes - might be worth target feeding shrimpy to keep him off your hermits. When I can I give my guys some chopped clam or mussel. Never heard of one yanking out hermits and eating them though :eek:

66ins by 60ins by 37ins deep. fish stock 7in moorish idol,9in blue face angel,6in blue face angel,6in regal angel, 4in powder blue,1 pair flame angels,3 bellus angels,12 alleni damsels,4in cleaner wrasse,1 pair red sea clowns, 1 Pair of wild percs and 1 Pair of black percs,1 fire clown,1 red sea clown, 2 orchid dottybacks, 3 yellow tangs,2 heteractis magnifica anemones,1 heteractis crispa, 2 red bubble tips.
was talking to macca about it,think hes just hungry as the fish dont let much get to the bottom,might have to target feed like gilly says:)

Have witnessed this behaviour before in shrimps where the mollusc / crustacean is of minute size compared to the shrimp.

My old cleaner shrimp picked a couple of hermits off. Mind you, it was more opportunity than anything I think, it was when the cleaners were molting, out of the shell for a moment and vulnerable.
