    Default D&D Nano24 lights with a timer

Sorry if this is a daft question  ...Does anyone have the standard lights which come with the D&D Nano 24 on a timer?

Reson i ask is that the lights are powered by a power block which comes with the tank and not sure if ok to leave power block turned on and activated and diactivated by a timer!!

    Thanks.

Mine are on a timer and seem ok but its only been 4 months. Can't see there being a problem tbh.

Gilly have you added any additional lights to you Nano? or just kept with the 2x T5's which come as standard?

    Thanks.

Can't imagine there being anything in the power block that would be affected by switching it with a timer TBH.

My only concern would be putting more load on it than it was designed to handle. If you do put any extra lights on the tank, make sure they are fed seperatly from the power block.

Mine's just got standard lighting. I'm not going to keep SPS or anything so the standard lights are more than enough imo. I think a lot of modding is done on these tanks just for the sake of it when really a lot of it is totally unnecessary.

Do you think an SPS could be kept if it was placed high up the tank so its more or less directly under the lights?

I have mine on a timer and no problems to date.

SPS hey, well I would wait for a few months and get the new 28g NC which comes with either 70w or 150w M/H. Then you can keep what you like! :)

I dont think its worth risking SpS in the standard NC but you can fit extra lights with what I am told relative ease.

I personally would give SPS a go if you feel that way inclined. A couple of small frags will cost you no more than £15-20. Not too much of a gamble really.
