    Default peppermint shrimp

A few weeks ago we got rid of quite a large aiptasia which came on some live rock! I have recently noticed 5 - 6 very small ones, i have heard that peppermint shrimps will eat them but wanted to check if this is true and if one would be ok in our tank.

    We have got:

    2 cleaner shrimps
    2 clarks clowns
    1 coral beauty
    1 midas bleeny
    vibex and tiger nassa snails
    hermit crabs and turbo snails

    Thank, katie:p

I got 2 from Marine Tech, eat my one and only aiptasia, so I would say they definately work. The one they ate had a head the size of a 5p.

Can't see any compatibility issues with your current stock either.

hi katie i did not put pepermint shrimps in my nano tank because some people said they had trouble with them . so what i did was inject them with boiling water through a sryinge and fine needle and it really worked .just watch you are not to near to your corals in case you burn them:p

I had a few aiptasia, so I bought 1 peppermint shrimp and also injected the ones I could see with vinegar. So far there have been no more sightings of the aiptasia.

I think peppermint shrimps do work, but I would use some other measures as well to make sure.

I got 3 peppermints from James a year ago and they ate all the aips in my 12g nano so I'd say they definitely work. But I think it is a bit hit or miss tbh, especially if your tank is well fed. IME they will go for the easy food over aips.
