    Default Lights on Whilst mixing?

    Hi All,

    Im currently in the progress of mixing my salt water (in my new tank).

    Should i have the lights running at all whilst im mixing?

    If not at what point should i start having the lights on in my tank? i plan to add sand (caribsea i think im ging with) on tueday.

    Hi Rich,

    I would leave them off until the live rock goes in.

    No real need to see anything at this point, uless you'll want to look at your sand:D

    LOL. I remember this scenario well. I had to keep switching the lights on to gawp I was that excited!:D

    Im not too bothered about just looking att the water..as fun as it looks :rolleyes: ...so i'll leave them off for now!..

    Hi Ricardo.

    I have my blue atinics on from midday till 10.30pm and my halides come on from 1pm till 9pm.

    Generally halides for 8-10 hours and any tubes a bit longer on either side to mimic a sunrise and sunset (gradually increasing the light levels before the halides come on)

    Saying that I don't have any tubes and my halides are on from 1pm - 10pm and 2:30pm -10:30pm
