    Default My first readings

Hi I thought I would post my first reading here to hopefully get an idea if all is OK. Set up my 90litre tank a week ago with 2 kilos of live rock and put another 8 in on Tuesday and took these readings today
Temp 24.8 Sg 1.20 Ph 8 Ammonia 0.25 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 10 I understand about waiting during cyling the tank and will now take a few readings over the next week. Am I on the right track
    Cheers
    Nick

Yes you are bud. You'll want to test for KH, phosphate, calcium and magnesium too after cycling is done. Pics of what you've done so far would be great too. Stewart

Yes the waiting is a pain. Seriously considering taking out the Bio Balls as the more I read on the other posts the more I think they are doing more harm than good. Will get some more live rock and have that in the filter compartments

No mate rowa is short for rowaphos which is a fluidising media for absorbing phosphate. One of the main causes of algae. You use it inside a fluidised reactor for it's best efficiency. You can get foam rowaphos but I've only ever used it on a freshwater tank within a filter. Therefore can't recommend it for marine use cause I don't know how it fares. Google it and you'll get the idea. There are other types of phosphate absorbers - for me rowa is the best but others will disagree. Rowa is by far the dearest too.
