my tank
Some of this is a duplicate from the introduce yourself thread but here goes :)
Just started my first marine tank, a 30l Aquahabitats - MicroHabitat 30. been running just over 3 weeks. Current inhabitants:
3.8kg live rock
1 cleaner shrimp
1 sun coral (with free? clam)
2 Common Clowns
I believe there is also a small (1.5cm ) brittle star.
the original post has links to images and a video.
My question is (and I've asked this in two shops and got three answers). How much should I be feeding the above critters? They will eat a cube of frozen brine shrimp a day quite happily, but is this too much or not enough.
I use a large pipette to feed the sun coral with the pump off and the clowns and shrimp will also feed directly from it as soon as they see it. As can be seen in the video the sun coral seems more than happy to come out under the blue light in the evenings.

Re: my tank
one cube is way too much IMHO.
when I started I had near the exact same as you,
I was melting a cube and mixing it with a little RO
water and this was lasting a couple of days if not
more.I also found feeding with the froozen plates of brine
food easier to judge the amounts, my two clowns
were getting a bit broken off about the size of your
little finger nail a day and two years on they are both
healthy.my sun coral was feeding well on cyclop-eeze,
I was using a fifth of a teaspoon mixed with water twice
a week.problem with sun corals in smaller tanks is target
feeding them can put way too much food into the tank
then the next thing your nitrates go through the roof.

Re: my tank
Thanks for the reply, when adding the cyclop-eeze and water, did you add to tank or try to target sun coral? Will go hunting for that and the frozen plates today.

Re: my tank
mixed with water and used a syringe to feed but it is that fine it will spread around
your tank so you need very little.you get it on ebay and the plates of froozen food
they do in grosvenor aquatics.they also have the same tank you have set up as one
of there marine displays.
