    Hi all,

    Hi Tetley,

I am thinking about using the Caribsea Mineral Mud and Gilly has mentioned that she'll give me some Cheato. I was also thinking about putting a single tier of eggcrate, high enough to clear the mud and putting some LR on it. I may also add some Grape Caulerpa, I like the look of it you see, but not sure if it'll coexist with the Cheato.

I'll also add some 'pods and try to get some live Mysis to breed in there.

The fuge is base is 40cm x 28cm and was wondering if anyone knows how much Mineral Mud I should use?

    Cheers,

    Hi Cambell,

I purchased a HOB fuge some time ago.

Substrate is Mineral Mud about 3inch in depth.

Chaeto & Clauprea (sp), lit 24/7 buy Arcadia Pod lamp (11watt).

The growth in the Algea, has been very good, took me by surprise.

I still have a number (not lots) of bio balls in first chamber, going to swap them out for some rock rubble.

Hi Ian did you say you have 3 inch of mineral mud in your fuge, if so and you pulled out some chaeto the other day you might have moved the sand if it is that depth and caused HS to escape into the tank. This is only a thought as to what is killing your fish m8. The reason i asked you this is because mineral mud etc is only supposed to be just over 1 inch deep, and if you have 3 inch deep this is maybe where your problem lies. HTH Eric:)

    Hi Campbell

Great to see the fuge has arrived, I know its been a long time in the planning.

As well as the chaeto, I've got 3 different types of calurpa although not the grape kind. Your welcome to a cutting of the others though ;)
