Brilliant!
Not cheap, but for a hand made bespoke hermit house not too bad really!
I might try to get one of these electric blue ones to move into one, mind you i'd feel a little like a peeping tom looking through a window, maybe he does frosted to preserve their dignity...?
:-)
I think these are just wrong and dont like the look at all.
Although one of our guys has a hermit with a mushroom frag attached to his shell
Cheers

I'm really surprised that they would take to these, most creatures use their shells as security, part of that is that they feel safe when they pull back into them as it's dark and they feel protected. Or maybe the cocky ones like the see though as they can torment the attacker, you can't get me you can't get me and blowing rasberrys?!
I bet they're really mooning at any predators!!
It's taken one of mine 6 months in the worlds scruffiest shell to move into another, i doubt they'd be easy to get to like a glass shell, i wonder if you'd have to buy a dozen mixed sizes and types like you do with real shells?
I wonder if he does glass tubes for my fanworm?
mind you who wants to see one of them?
there was a debate on them.some liked them some hated them one of the shell makers did respond with this reply
After reading all the comments on this I wanted to put in some comments with my 12 years of experience with blowing glass shells and keeping hermit crabs in glass shells. I have kept Hermit Crabs in glass shells since a I show I had in NYC called Glass Houses/Mobil Homes in 1996. http://findarticles.com/p/articles/m..._18930318/pg_2 I have had 100's of Hermit Crabs move in and out of my creations for over 12 years. I have not seen any difference in a Hermit Crab selecting an opaque, clear or colored shell. The selection is theirs, many shells both glass and real are in the installations pieces I do, I have found they select glass over shell 2 to 1. I am making improvements to the shells every year. You can see one of my installation at http://www.dugrenier.com/sculpture/s...sculptcrab.jpg. As stated in many comments posted you can't make a hermit crab move in to something it does not want to be in. I am not sure who made the glass in the photo or if it is one of the many shells I have made and sold. The next exhibition I will be having is in May in Vermont please stop by if you would like to see the art of the mobile home....

i thought they would be much dearer, quite like them remember seeing one years ago. would be quite cool having one crab bouncin' around the crib with his bling ride on.
