i am haveing my tank drilled but was wondering what size the holes should be and can the return pipe be smaller than the feed pipe or should they both be the same

Hole size depends on the size of bulhead/tank connectors you are using. The person drilling your tank should be told this info.

IMO the return pipe should be smaller than the drains to be the safest bet.

Hi Nemo. The normal holes sizes are 63mm hole for 50mm pipe, 55mm hole for 40mm pipe, and 32mm for 25mm pipe for return, but as MR TEEE says it depends on what size your tank is and pump sizes etc. HTH. Eric

hey ste why dont we head to B&Q and take a look at the plumbing section the pipes you need along with the fittings needed should be in there, its gotta be worth a try would give you a better idea also when you order your tank ask em what size holes they are drilling to give us a clue.
