Thread: Does a tank need 2 holes drilled?

      •  kole tang,pair of clarkis,fireball dwarf angel and a stary blenny
      • Corals:
      •  True bubble,2xhammer,normal bubble,duncans,australian Goneastrea,pectinia coral and a large open brain and a couple of SPS
      • Inverts:
      •  cleaner shrimp, Harlequin shrimp a few crabs and snails but need more.......

    Default Does a tank need 2 holes drilled?

    Hi guys

    Is it best to have 2 holes drilled in a tank down to the sump please I'm not really sure so just after some advice please?

    If your going from the bottom of the tank then yes 2 drains around 40mm if your going on the back pane of the glass near the top one hole and small weir have a ganda at mine

    As Kev says 1 is as good as 2 holes they can both made to be quiet it depends on how you have your weir. Twiggy

    Eric do you still drill tanks please if need be in the near future just looking for ideas/solutions seen a couple of tanks i am of to look at the wkend all been well i just dont fancy drilling myself.

    Yes i can still drill them, i usually only charge fuel costs to and from where i go to. I have just drilled my new tank with 2 55mm holes for 2 40mm connecters and a 28mm hole for a 20mm return connecter. Give me a shout when your ready Twiggy
