Tang Compatability?

Hi All

Ive just bought a 5x2x2 which I should be collecting shortly, I already have a regal & the setup comes with a Yellow Tang too.

I fancy a couple more like blonde naso or powder blue, is there any problems keeping these together or are there any better looking tangs? This wont be happening straight away just after advice.

Hi Adam i would stick with what you have as a Naso is to big for a 5x2x2 and a Powder Blue is a very hard fish to keep as they are white spot magnets and putting one in a tank with 2 tangs already in would cause a war and you would have WS. Twiggy

This is the reason I put these posts, thanks for the advice dont want no wars going on! Is there any other tangs that are compatable and nice looking? also fancying a shoal of something any ideas?

If you want other tangs that wont grow to big for a 5x2x2 tank, there are Convicts/Kole yellow eye/Emporer or purple Tang/Scopas/or you could add another 2 Yellowa when you add the one your getting Twiggy

I think there is a yellow eyed tang coming with it too, might keep that. Will they bully my smaller regal hes about 2 1/2 inch now?

I also think a set up looks great with a few YT's.

No the Kole is a bristle tooth so wont bother the Regal, the only trouble you will have with the kole is if you get an algae blenny as they will fight for competition for food.Twiggy

Hi, The Scooter is actually a Dragonet, totally different from the Salarias Blennies Eric is talking about. I have an IO Gold Ring Bristletooth, like a Kole except spots instead of lines down his sides, and I can confirm that he hates my Algae Blenny. No real fighting but every time time the Tang spots the Blenny he'll rush him. Blenny is wise to this now and tends to stay out of sight when he sees the Tang coming. Of course sometimes the Tang sees the Blenny first... :0)
