as said in my clarki clowns for sale thread. im training for the fire service now and planning on moving out so i cant keep my tank and its unfair to ditch it on my family as they both work alot. so can some of you kind folk give me and idea what price i should sell my tank for i may be interested in breaking it if i get enough interest in parts :)

>180L/40G jewel vision 180 in beech with cabinet
>25kg of live rock various types fiji, tonga braching (small infestation of glass nems, but no other bad critters)
>150W arcadia series 3 halide 2 month old bulb
>deltec mce 300 protein skimmer (needs new pump)
>tetra external filter (for chemicals)
>seio water pump
>maxijet 1200lph pump
> loads of books
>marine salt
>various bits of equipment nets,siphons, chemical filtration, test kits, thermometer hydrometer

Hi Callum nice to see you are doing well and getting your life sorted. Selling s/h tank stuff is very hard these days as most folk dont have the money to buy stuff which at one time would have been snapped up within a hour. My advice would be to put a price on what you see other items that are similar and see what happens and go from there. If they dont move reduce the price a bit to see if it will bring success in selling them. If after doing this Ebay or Aquarists Classified is the next step. You have maybe noticed by your Clowns at one time they would have been snapped up right away, but with the crunch on its telling on every thing. I hope you are successful in selling it all and i wish you luck in your new career. Twiggy

hi Callum I recently sold up my set up due to illness and lack of work,I got most of the prices I posted up items for,and for the odd couple I only lowered prices by a few pound to get them sold,so as Eric said put a price on that you would like and then see what response you get,ps Eric mentioned Ebay,which I used,but remember if using ebay is cost to list and you pay a fee for selling.

i no its a pain but can someone give me rough prices on my items i havent been on an aquatic website in a Year i hve no clue what items are worth now lol

hi callum, sorry to hear your selling up. i look at setups on a daily basis and marine items, they not going for alot at minute to be honest. with alot of tanks etc going unsold. having said that though some items are selling if you manage to hit the right market, however no where near the £500 mark.

this is about average prices i seen items go for, and current selling prices on ebay:

>150W arcadia series 3 halide 2 month old bulb (£40-£50)
>deltec mce 300 protein skimmer (£40-£50)
>tetra external filter (£40)
>seio water pump (£20)
>maxijet 1200lph pump (£20)
> loads of books (£3-£6 each)
>marine salt (only new usually seen on ebay)
>various bits of equipment nets,siphons, chemical filtration, test kits, thermometer hydrometer (£20)

if anyone disagrees then feel free to update prices, but from looking now and having seen the items sell these are average based on what i've seen. hope this helps.

i have replaced the pump on the skimmer can confirm its all working perfectly.

was going to sell a rena 5ft easily over 800 when new but no one wants them these days especially not the advridge ebayer so sold it to howie very cheap
