as some of you may remember a friend of mine was having problems loosing fish in his nano tank, after some investigating and a firefish that substained a nasty cut above it's eye, and got eaten over night were 100% sure we're dealing with a nasty mantis shrimp. now in the morning i'm going to his to exchange his rock for some out of my tank, is their any way of removing the mantis shrimp from his rock and kill it? if not mr lump hammer is coming out and making more rubble for my sump,

if you can get it out you dont want to kill it put in your sump best place for critters like these i think as they keep your sump sorted if i ever get nasties thats where they go.

as above put the rock in the sump and add food to tempt it out , very interesting creatures and it's a shame so many get killed.
Maybe a quick RO dip will shock it out then sump it

well it took a while to find, but i got the mantis shrimp. it's now in my sump. if it wasnt so deadly it'd be quite cute, lol. it's about an inch long, with a black & white stripped tail, and a claw that looks really funny as it's too big for its body. also found 6 black mud crabs (xanthid crabs) in the LR which have all been sumped now as well. the LR has now been turned into rubble,
