looking for a small internal skimmer to go into my sump, hooked my external one up but it's not skimming as well as it used to hanging onto the tank, and also for space it would be better internal for me. the tank is 400ltr and sump 3ft,

You need something like a Aqua Medic 1000 sl which sits in the sump and will do your tank ok. Twiggy
or an apf how much do you want for yours eric
has anyone got any experience with the v2 400 skimmer? would this be suitable? i can't understand why mine ain't skimming as i haven't adjusted it from when it was on the tank, just moved it to the sump. it is still creating bubbles, anyone any idea???
have you been cleaning it regularly? after cleaning it takes a few days for the skimmer to "bed in" and develop a film of organics to enable the bubbles to develop integrity. otherwise they burst too early. the v2's haven't got the best reputation tbh. either AM or deltec, imho.
i have a turbo flotor tl1000 with trickle tower that i might sell al let you know if i find something
