Brittle Star Behaviour

In my last tank I had a large black brittle star that used to hide amongst the rock work during the day and used to come out to scavenge during the night. This is how I thought these guys ticked.

I bought one from Macca about a month ago and this is black again but with fine green markings on each brittle. This guy is no use at all. He's climbed to the back of my tank up to the very top corner and just sits in the very top corner of the tank on a pump inlet and never moves. I've moved him down in to the tank amongst the rock and he returns exactly to the same place.

What gives? anyone got any clue? I wanted a brittle as I wanted something to move in and out of the rock eating uneaten food so this is very frustrating!

He is going where the flow is as there is more food there. The ones in my tank only come out when its feeding time but your sounds as if its hungry. Or it sences danger in the rocks - mantis shrimp?

I've been feeding him snippets to keep him fed. Threat should be unlikely as it's the same rock that I had before and I've not added anything. If he is hungry, how do I get him out of the habit once I've given him a meal? Put a guard around that corner?

what you feeding him,i have 3 different brittles in my tank and i target feed them lance fish every week or so,and rest of time they just feed of leftovers in tank.

Similar. Small chunk of lance fish every fortnight always worked for my last one. He gets plenty from the fish feeds though this one.
