    Default Algae Blenny additional food?

I got an algae blenny to help remove all the hair algae in my new tank. He has done a first class job to the point I am now running very love on hair algae. He doesn't even look at any other food that I feed my other fish. What food/if any can I try to feed him? Thanks :)

hi tom, imo you should try and catch the blenny before his food supply runs out, it wont eat anything else and will waste away. jmo

Algae blennies can be very hit or miss. Have you tried nori tied to a rock? That might work. My algae blenny was a big fat pig who ate anything and everything that I put in the tank foodwise. He died a few months back of what must have been old age - miss him lots.

If nothing works then it would be best to pass him on to someone else with an algae problem.

Mine eats Nori, might be worth clipping a sheet on the side to se if it takes his fancy.

I use roasted sushi nori sheets from Tesco but you can also get the same stuff from your lfs, usually branded Julian Sprungs. The supermarket pack is about a quarter of the price though.

Marine Tech do packs of 20 sheets for 3 quid! Also ask him about New Era Herbivore flake food... I couldn't get my Yellow Tang to eat until I tried him on that, now he's a fatty!
