    Default ID crab please :)

    just found this crab in my tank, id please and if its safe or not :)

    hi if you can see his claws and they are pointy its normally sigh of a xanthid crab which means it can be a baddy if they are more rounded and not pointy at the end then should be ok macca is the one who will tell you :D

    I would have said the colouring looks more like a pom pom crab. As Wakey said Macca is the man who'll know. :D

    I agree with the above comment - its shell does look very pom-pom-sh.

    bin looking at many marine crab pics, and think it may be a porceline crab? any thoughts?

    Porcelain crabs have 6 visible legs only as the front 2 have been adapted to make filters/food catchers.
