Sexy shrimp size when bought

Hi

Have just acquired a pair of sexy shrimp and they arrived only around 1cm long. Within a day my 2cm damsel had eaten both of them without even trying. What size have you received them and how can you keep them alive in a tank with fish. Advice please.:mad:

I have 1cm sexy shrimp in beside wrasse, clowns, gobies and blennys. When buying livestock you have to introduce correctly and make sure the tank mates are compartible.

I was told yesterday a fuzzy dwarf eat a lionfish 3/4 its size out of hunger.

Also have witnessed a prawn goby eat a shrimp due to not be introduced correctly and have also witnessed many a pair of boxing shrimp tear one another apart due to being introduced wrongly.

In short if the tankmates are compartible a 1cm sexy shrimp can live with fish multiple times its size.

had 2 sexy shrimps in my tank now for over a year under a cm when bought popped them in when i was feeding tankmates other end of tank as macca advised and they are both still alive to date living together with nothing bothering them.

You're lucky. Been to my local LFS and he says wouldnt sell them that small as the outcome is inevitable. Wish I had been warned by seller about size prior to purchase.:mad:

not been funny but sexy shrimps dont get that big anyhow so when retailer says he would'nt sell them at 1cm how big does he get them to?

He said 1.5cm is minimum he would by or sell them and thinking that would have been big enough.

The truth of this thread is that Gilly bought 4 Haloween hermits and 2 sexy shrimp from me. I sent out middle sized sexy shrimp fact.

Gilly informed me by PM, that one of the Haloween hermits was out of its shell, I informed that its probably a molt as they often molt in transit but will refund the £2.50 any way.

I was also told how the shrimp were small and not what expected. I informed that sexy shrimp are small. I was told I should let my customers know these things?

Later I was informed that her fish eat them. And what was I prepared to do?

I said I could not be held responsible for this which later Gilly said well I am going to tell people on the forum to which I said thats fine, I have nothing to hide.

Gilly you cannot hold me responsible for this. Sexy shrimp are small shrimp fact. If they died in transit I would refund but cannot if your fish eat them.

No but you could have informed me of size on delivery. Everything else I have ever bought has been near adult size. And by the way - the crab was dead nothing going on in the shell.

They were so tiny the damsel (only 2") just sucked them in easy. I saw you had your friend respond. Wanted to hear from impartial people.
