    Default Mystery Worm

My nephew has just spotted this on my tank glass & asked if it was fish poo! (6yr olds huh???) Fished it out but haven't seen one before, Usual question, to return to tank or not.

It's about 1cm long & seems to have 2 small horns.

    Thanks, Ian.

Anybody????? Don't want to stick it back in if it eats things, but not fair to leave it sat in a pot for much longer.

    Hi Ian,

How big is it and was it stuck to the glass length wise I know this may not be much help but guesing a slug of some sort may be better off in the sump until you know what bit could be make sure it's safe?

It's about 1cm long & was attached to the front glass horizontally. Haven't got a sump as such,so can't do that & I don't know how long it will live in the pot which is being kept up to temp on top of the tank. Having looked at pics, I assume it's a nudi of some sort but can't track down anything specific

    Rob.

Don't like terminating things without good reason, so I usually take my unwanteds to Ocean Corals for the shop sumps, but I'm not in York till Friday & ain't making a 30mile round trip for a 1cm nudi. Unless I can be sure it's not going back in as most posts I can find say these like zoanthus for breakfast, lunch & tea.

To be honest I wouldn't have thought it was a nudi but i'm not an expert :o Just doesn't look the right shape

Put it in a cup with some tank water in a warm place and it may be ok until fri to be honest I wouldn't put it back in your tank as like you say it could be anything:frown:

could that be some type of nudibranch slug?

The two horns look like the ones you often see on these slugs.
