    Default Huge hairy crab

Guy's after thinking my hippo tank was sitting nicely with little problems I decided to add my Mandarin (seems well happy). Only to find a growing population of what I think are flat worms (to be investigated), and the hugest hitch hiking crab I've ever got.

Its about 2.5 to 3 inches across, huge claws, white shell covered in orange hair making it appear orange and he's eyeing up my mandarin. Should I be worried any idea's what flavour he is.

On the up note I have a 1cm blue bubble tip nem (i think previous owner of the LR had a bubble tip and think it may have left me a baby).

    Any help always appreciated.

I would have a go at getting the crab out, anything that large is bound to be up to no good.

Knock up a trap using a coke bottle chopped in half with the neck section inverted.

Bait with some juicy food and lean it up against the rockwork.

Hi It sounds as if you have a Teddy Bear crab which is a fish killer so if i were you get a trap and get it out. If you catch it and have a sump put it in there it will live on what comes in plus give it a cockle or 2 every few weeks. HTH Eric
I have upgraded to a 48x26x30inch with a 40x18x18 sump which as a Bubble Magus NAC7 skimmer with a Eheim compact 5,000 return pump.

Not really, Its only live food for the mantis. No different from feeding it live snails IMO.
