Hi guys.
Just a quick question. I am building a new sump, and I was wondering if B&Q Silicone Sealant in safe to use or do I need to get some other sealant. I am copying a design I have seen on you tube: http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxnugJGiT3o
Thanx in advance
Si
Whoa hang on dont use B-Q sealant as it will kill all in your tank as it has a fungicide in to stop mould growth. You need proper Aquarium sealant which is about £10 a tube. and sold in most lfs. HTH Twiggy:D PS dont use acrylic for the partitions like he his, you need glass as silicone wont stick to acrylic.
I have upgraded to a 48x26x30inch with a 40x18x18 sump which as a Bubble Magus NAC7 skimmer with a Eheim compact 5,000 return pump.
Have a look on the bay you can get aquarium silicone for around a fiver delivered
My local glass place sells it but you have to ask for non-toxic silicone and do a quick label check in the shop and make sure its not anti-mold as thats toxic.
