If you can get it out. At this stage without fish and regular food a glass bottle (old milk bottle is best) with a bit of prawn in or similar should work well

ok so i now have a jam jar in the tank
how does the crab get in, if he can get in then he must be able to get out,
what i have done is put the jar at an angle with a shrimp, will this affect my water quality

If it's at a good angle they can't gain purchase to come out, thats the theory anyway. It may take a while but it often works, has done for me anyway.

Hi Eddie a good tip is tie some line to the jar so you can yank it out, if you bait the jar and lay it in the tank at an angle so the crab can get in but wont be able to climb out. When you catch it put a pic up to ID it and then do what you want with it after that. HTH Twiggy:D
