    Default Chipped tank, advice please?!

    Hi guys.

moving my new tank over from my garage today i've slipped and dropped one end. attached a pic of the damage. I can silicone this up although it's not broken the seal. my worry however is have I compromised the tanks itegrity strength wise? it's on the bottom left corner.

    anyone advise?

    cheers

    Ray

    Hi Eric

thanks for the reply. it's not actually broken the seal so leaking shouldnt be a problem. I could silicone a bit of glass on the inside to cover the bottom corner just in case. My only real worry is would it have caused a weak spot there and could it cause the tank to crack on that corner in the future?

any tank builders on here? :D

    cheers

    Ray

Hi Ray I once chipped a piece out of the side panel on the bottom edge about the size of a 50p piece and it was like that for years and never gave any trouble. HTH. Eric

For extra safety, would it be possible to get a small square of 10mm glass and silicone it on the inside bottom of the tank to reinforce that corner.

I agree that the tank looks to be salvageable.
