Default what anthias do you keep?

    hI

I have at the moment 14 squamipinni anthias with 2 males and 3 bi colour anthias which get on great.

What are you keeping and have you had any problems with them?

I was looking at adding another species but i am not sure of what will get on with my lot.

    Cheers

FJ What size tank do you have these in, as I have been looking at a group of Anthias for some time. How regularly do you feed yours to keep them happy, as I have heard thay require lots of small feeds during the day.

    Hi pal

I keep them in a 6'x2'x2' with another 140g of water added onto the system.

They are fed 3-4 times per day.

I have found the squamipinni's the easiest to keep and the best to mix.

They look great as a shoal and add that extra movement to your reef:)

    Cheers

Cheers FJ, How many do you think could live in a 5'x2'x2 with a total system volume of about 200g. Is it best to have only one male and then a group of females?

How about 1 male to 6 females?
P.S sorry, it's not an answer to your original question!.

I have 5 Lyretails (had 6 but the original male jumped) great fish but aren’t all Anthias. Can’t help with compatibility with other Anthias but they was a fair bit of squabbling when I increased my numbers from 4 to 6.

I try to feed 3-4 times a day with flake food seems to keep them nice and healthy.

Sounds like a nice number MR Tee why not just put all females in and let the most dominant turn male.

    Cheers

Oh right, didn't actually realise that they could turn into males.

Makes buying them a bit easier!

    CHeers guys

Yeah they can turn into males.

I have 2 females that have now turned into males which has confused me as i thought only 1 would turn male.

The colour difference between the 2 males is drastic with 1 male (most colourfull) being the more dominant.

I would just get females if i was you and watching them change can be very interesting in its own right:)

I reckon a nice shoal of 6-10 would look great in your reef MR T;)

    Cheers

    FJ
