    Default Ozone Air dryer.

Tesco's are selling Acylic 2ltr air tight jars just the job to make an Air dryer for an ozoniser. Here mine and how I made it.

Just in case you don't know ozonisers are best used with an air dryer as if used without the amount of ozone produced can be as much as 50% less than thye stated out put. The jar is filled with silica gel beads with some of them indicator beads which changed colour when saturated with moisture. The beads can be regenerated buy heating in an oven at approx 110f .

I used 2 old airline connectors to make the airline connections to the jar which was first drilled as in the pics. These were glued in place with some acylic glue. Some filter crate I had lying around was cut and placed in the bottom and was elevated off the bottom by a very short piece of 22mm plastic tube. Some gravel tidy was placed over that and the whole thing filled with 2ltrs of the beads. BTW you can buy the silica gel beads from eBay if you can't buy them locally or via the sponsors on here. Any questions just ask but its all pretty straight forward really.

    Tesco's preservative Jar.

    What I made with mine.

The finished air dryer complete with silica gel moisture absorbant beads.

Thanks for the input guys. The air dryer as been on for 2 days now. I have just taken a pic to show you its working which is reproduced below. You can see the bottom inch of the indicator beads turning grey (the now grey beads being the origional orange ones now indicating moisture take up y truning grey) indicating the air moisture being extracted by the beads. So far its working very well. BTW I have attached an air filter to the input which is one I had from an old powerhead. This is filled with filter wool and is rechargeable. I estimate that the beads will last at least a week before they will need drying out in the oven. Any questions or if I can be of anymore help just ask.

Only problem with calcium choride is its not regenerative unlike silica beads which can be used over and over again.

You put them on a baking try and heat in the oven to 110f leave for an hour or 2 and they dry out. You can do this time and time again. With Calcium chloride it disolves with the moisture and you have to throw it away.
