    Default Calcium additive Warning

have been using tropic Marin Bio-Calcium as an additive to keep calcium levels up, have been putting it into the top up water so that everytime it tops up it replenishes the calcium. came across this site and when i put in the tank parameters in the table it came up with a warni ng for this product stating NOT to use for topping up calcium only as it has an impact on Alk. what do you think:confused:

That's right, it does raise alk as well. If your levels are correct to start with then it should be ok as it will raise both together, but if it's just Calcium you want to raise then plain Calcium Chloride is the cheapest way to do it.
