    Default weirs

i just got myself a new tank after the hasstle and humming and arring over the brace and trim in my current roma tank

it looks very well constructed and looks like a 3' clearseal tank

now im just thinking about weirs and what you people have yours made out of

whith this tank im thinking of going for a full weir but dont really want do use clear glass
but ive heard acrylic doesnt stick to glass

also im drilling it on the back pannel but not sure wheather to drill it near the top or bottom

any advice on either of the above

    thanks

I've just put a weir into a small tank I'm making a fuge out of. Marley solvent weld did a good job of sticking acrylic to glass ;) - I then sealed it with some silicon along the edges.

Hi all Acrylic does not bond to glass very well unles you use something like a 2 part epoxy resin glue. Silicone or pvc sealer is no good as it will soon come loose. The best way for partitions is glass to glass. HTH Twiggy:D:D

All I'll say, is it's been stuck there 3 weeks now, and even coped with me accidentally picking the tank up by the weir...

This was him at 7 weeks old

2 1/2 years later he's still a daft puppy, just bigger :) We couldn't ask for a more loving dog. Great with the kids, soft as anything but alert and protective with it...

I see this topic drifting way off (Sorry mods, I hope this topic stays) but...

I'm so sorry for your loss, white boxers are quite often deaf - it's a part of their genetic makeup. It's such a shame, as boxers make such great pets/friends/members of the family. Although they're a short nose breed and look menacing, they're like children that never grow up - always the puppy, always wanting to play, always seeing the best of things and never seeing the bad side of life.

I'd recommend a Boxer to anyone who has the time on their hands to give them the attention they deserve.
