    Default success

i have successfully today drilled my tank & connected a tank connector

i now need to build some sort of internal weir/overflow so i can set my desired tanks water level, any ideas i have looked at the 2 from my previous thread just wondered if any more ideas out there

i need to sort it pretty sharpish as the tank is full and need to sort something so the fish dont go down the drain lol

i used a 32mm tank connector and pipework and am using a OR2500 return pump, tested and seems to run & sync fine just now need to set water height so any ideas throw em this way

    thankx

i like the look of tee's overflow, very tidy, perhaps he'll tell us if there are any problems with it. i would assume it would require a gate valve between overflow and sump? does it require an air intake?

Yeah had a ballvalve on the sump end, no airlines or anything like that, dialled the ball valve in to reduce the gurgling.

If I did it again, I would have a 90' bend in the overflow facing downward. I would think this would make it totally silent.

p.s Oh and the water height was set by the level of the glass.

was wondering if a 90 degree on the inside would help, create a durso type system. surely this would need an air intake?

I was only using an unwelded endcap, perhaps this eliminated the need for an air line?

I have seen where someone cut a notch in the top of the tee, and a notch in the end cap, then when you wanted some air in, you twisted the endcap so the notches were aligned.

from what i can gather is like i want to happen the water level is set by the glass on the internal, do u have a t on the outside or just straight closed piping to the sump

i now need to cut the glass and put it together whils finding a temperary solution to keeping the tank flowing though the sump!!
