HELP ME!!! i found some thing on my rock.

i got some live rock today and before i put it into my tank i like to investigate it for only bad stuff and i found something i havent seen before and iam hoping one of you guys have.

description:
it is brown with bumpy skin sought of like an earth worm. its mouth as little white bits sticking out and it has a black bit on its butt.

can you tell me of it is good or bad aswell

Most likely a bristleworm, bit hard to tell exactly from the pic have a search on google and see if they match up. Have you touched it? If it is a bristleworm you’ll probably wish you hadn’t (the bristles cause an itchy irritation). Good addition to the clean up crew they’ll eat anything that’s died but can grow very large (I’ve got one about 2ft long in my sump).

i kind of left it in a glass of tank water and forgot about it.
well all i got to say is the water was a tad cold.
my mum was not to impressed finding a weird critter in one of her glasses:confused:

Peanut worms come in many sp. They also can retract into a small pulp, expand to a great length or have a fat end and a skinny end. You photo is hard to tell but I am 90% sure it is one with your description.

a. Looks like a worm.
b. Mouth has distint difference (opening) as has the rear end (black).
c. Has no bristles.
D. Lives in live rock

id guess at a bristle worm, or at least a good to have worm, from my own experiance preditor worms are a nightmare to catch, and you would have seen the damage long before the worm
