Default 140L Aqua Medic chromis cube filters reqd

I'm looking at something like a Fluval 205 (690L/hr) and an Eheim aquaball 2212.

Or maybe just 2 Eheim 2212's.

The 2212 has a 650L/hr output and a directional output and it's Eheim, so it's quality.

    What do you think?

This will be my first marine tank.

Hi what are you going to do with these filters as most marine tanks dont use them, the best way to filter a marine tank is with good Live Rock and a good skimmer.Marines are totally different to keep than freshwater fish, so you have to filter them differently. HTH Twiggy:D:D

I was going to use live rock/sand but I thought that I needed some serious filtration to go with it.

    Is this not the case?

Can you recommend a reasonable skimmer to go with a couple of wave makers then.
    Thanks.

how much live rock/sand? 20kg rock plus sand?

It is the live rock that does the filtration in marine tanks. As for the amount 20 kilo will be good, maybe slightly less. It's recommended as 1kg per gallon.

Skimmer wise I use a deltec MCE300 on a tank of that size and itworks well though I'm sure there are others.
