Couple of hitchhikers

These two critters have appeared over the past couple of weeks. I do realise that one is a crab and the other a snail. :) Any ideas?

Not sure about the snail but that crab, does it just hang out like this, half out/half in the hole?

Yes it does. I've seen it at night a couple of times out of the hole but can't get a pic then.

Ah I thought as much, it looks and sounds very much like a Xanthid crab.

Nasty, sneaky little ******s, they just sit there and when anything comes near you see the claw move out, slowly and deliberately and then......

I had one a while back, I think it killed one of my Citron Gobies but I know for sure that it munched it's way through most of my Nass. snails.

Catch him and sump him.

Hi Jenny Macca is your man for crabs, but i would say the same the crab you have is a baddy. Someone said sump him, if you get enough crabs you could soup them. Lovely Jubbly. Twiggy:D:D

Re snail

No clue as to the name but i've had one like him in my tank for about a year (long proboscis on him?), come in on some LR and has wandered about the tank ever since. Never done any harm.
