View Full Version : Pipe Fittings

One thing I hate is buying plumbing fittings for a tank. I recently got my new tank drilled only to find out that the Pipework was 3 mm out as there is different class of 1.5 pipework. Does anyone know what 1.5 class TMC pipework is?? If you buy the standard 1.5 inch from the plumb center etc it does not fit. It is far to small. I which they would make this easier for everyone by only having 1 size === 1 size. Not 1 size === 3 or 4 possibilities.

Anyone help?

Hi James. TMC pipe the white stuff is made in the USA and will not marry up to any other fittings. Aquarius have 3 sorts of pipe work but not 1 is the same size, If you have started with TMC fttings and pipe you will have to carry on using it. If you are stuck m8 i will see what size they have at Aquarius when i go on Friday. HTH. Eric PS Did Ian give you that DVD of Sex under the Sea. :)

Yes, I dropped it in to his house, gave to his wife (well nice young lady, so I presume his wife).

They list sizes for Metric and Imperial measurements

Eric I got the CD many thanks. I have not had time to view yet but hopefully will before we finally meet on Sunday. Eric I am glad you are back online and hopefully feeling better.

PS Thanks Mike for the link, There is a company in York called The pipe centre (Clifton moor) that stocks the TMC pipe (Class C) it is grey in colour and very slightly wider but fits nice and tight :D

They also stock tank connectors and much more at a fraction of the price!
