well had a great day to day i have just bought 3kg of live rock as they had some nice organisms on them.
one piece has feather dusters and some sought of coral i cant tell what it is as it is closed. but i think they where a bargin and looked great.
just thought i would say how happy iam i might sound lame but it is some of my first bits of live rock. and its fun watching the life on them.
just have a few questions:

1. how long would it take for the corals to open up.

2.when i look into the tank the fether dusters go and hide in the rock

Hi Callum

Difficult to say about when the corals will open. I would think they have had a pretty traumatic journey, and may never recover. One of the the things I have learnt over the years, is that for an ailing coral, stable conditions and good water husbandry can bring about good healing processes, but this can take time.

Damage can be caused very quickly, but recovery can take time.

As for them worms, they close at very small vibration and light changes.

Any pics of your tank?:)

Just imagine when your tank is stocked up with fish and inverts. Its great, but half the fun is building this collection too.:)

Look forward to the photo's.

Your rock could pay off for you mate I've bought a couple of peices like that and they have done really well, keep it coral side up near the lights if possible and its got every chance of recovering, fingers crossed.
