Saw this on a website early and wondered what folk thought of it?

Is it like a carbon or Rowaphos?

Any comments welcome.

Hi Andy Purigen is a nitrate remover that some folks run in there Nano's instead of using a skimmer. Apparentley its ok for small tanks but not very cost effective for large tans as it would cost a fortune. HTH Twiggy:D

ive used it andy it comes in a little bag it didnt do much for me and you have to regenerate it to i personally thought it was a waste of time maybe better suited to smaller tanks no good for large systems J.M.O

Cheers guys, never used it so was just wanting some more info on it? Seems like I'd be wasting my time and money on some, best to ask first though.

hi andy

i use it in my rio 180 tank and used it in my deltec nano tank, works well for my size of tank but might not for yours.
got my last batch from James at a great price.

there ya go read this

Regeneration:
Soak in a 1:1 bleach:water solution for 24 hours in a non-metalic container in a well ventilated area and away from children. Rinse well, then soak for 8 hours with a solution containing 2 tablespoons of ChlorGuardâ„¢, Primeâ„¢, or equivalent dechlorinator per cup of water. Rinse well. For freshwater use, soak for 4 hours with a solution containing 1 tablespoon of buffer per cup of water (Discus Bufferâ„¢, Neutral Regulatorâ„¢, or Acid Bufferâ„¢). Original color and full activity should now be restored and Purigenâ„¢ is ready for reuse. Caution: some slime coat products may permanently foul Purigenâ„¢ and render regeneration difficult. Do not reuse if odor of chlorine is detectable. In case of doubt, soak beads in small quantity of water and test for residual chlorine with a chlorine test kit

I use it on my 24g nano.

Used it from the word go so cant really say if it works well or not?

I would rather pay £10 for another bag then muck about with Bleech!

Hi Andy i would say you would need a few bags to put in your tank at once, so it would be an expensive move IMO. Twiggy:D:D
