Hi reefers i have just bought a Tunze Wavebox for my 7x2x2 tank and its crap, i know i should not slag stuff off but i have tried everything and its driving me mad. Has anyone on here got one and how do you find it, i had one last year and it was great it got a real swell on in my 7 footer but my Lipstick went ape so i sold it. My thinking is that Tunze have cut down on the power on these things had because they were prone to busting the propellor mechanism. I have rung Paraquatics today and they say that its ok like this but to be honest i could make more waves with my hand, i am now at a loss as what to do have you reefers any suggestions at all. Eric

Eric, I personally wanted one but was put off as my two weirs are at either end of my display tank. I think for what I have read to get the momentum of the waves going you need a central weir. Glad someone has given some feedback as I have never seen any for this product. Another product I have seen advertised is the wavy sea by coral garden, this is another product I have not seen enough feedback for but looks very good.

Hi James my weir is at one end of my tank but it was no trouble when i had the one last year. I cant seem to get any swell at all with this one as i did with the other one, making me think Tunze have depowered it. Eric

Patience TM!;)

As i said to you on the for sale section you have to adjust the controlletr with very fine movements.

I had exactly the same problem as you when i first installed my wavebox as i could not seem to get it producing a wave effect and i though this is crap!

You have to play about with it and once you make an adjustment leave it for 5 mins to see what effect you get.

Trust me they are far from crap!!

I am off to Thanet in Kent for 8 days so i will be off line but i will PM you my mobile number if you want to ring me to have a chat about it:)

It does take time with the unit but once set up you will love it!;)

Cheers

FJ
