View Full Version : What are these guys?
Hi all,
I have just noticed these wee beasties and I wonder what they are?
Strangest of all is that I have not added any new LR since August 2005 and no corals since September 2006  and yet this is the first I have seen these fellows.
Any idea folks?

Hi Campbell what colour are they if they are a reddish orangy colour they could be flatworms. If not they may be some form of snail do they have any feelers at one end. A better pic would be good more of a close up m8. Twiggy:D:D

Thanks folks,
Eric they are white and I've had a look at Pyramid and Russoid snails but can't get a better pic as they are nocturnal and I only noticed them by chance last night. This was the best I could do without putting the tank lights on.
It would seem they are algae eaters as there's no damage to the Sun Corals and as far as I could see last night my 3 Turbos are still there, they didn't venture too far from the sand and there seemed to be more in the sand.
Could they be baby Ceriths, as per this? http://www.reefcorals.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=3967&highlight=cerith
I am not too sure as I read that the larval stage of Ceriths is planktonic and they generally don't survive filters and skimmers.
