Hi
how many snails and hermits would you all recommend for a 80g tank?
At the moment I have 5 turbo snails and 5 hermits of mixed types.
Thanks

500 of each :p
There is no rule, although you have certain guidelines. Look at your tank after all blooms have gone and work out if there is deterius that need broken down in the sand bed, Algae that is gathering within liverock, Algae gathering on glass etc etc etc. Once we know were your trouble algae resides and what type it is we will be more than happy to help you introduce more clean up crew members.

hi nikki,
i think the general rule of thumb is, 1 clean up crew per gallon of water...a good mix of snails/hermits should see you right...though dont forget the spare empty shells for all them hermits looking to move house

Thanks everyone....would def like some different types of snails and some more hermits.Already have an assortment of spare shells ...watched one of the hermits try out a new shell the other day and then change back...fascinating!
