Ian,
To view the images from outside your house you will need a fixed Internet IP Address from your ISP.
You are probably using a 192.168.xxx.xxx address range within your local network and cannot be accessed from external sources (at least not without using some complicated Network Address Translation  )

I think I understand that dons. So how do I go about doing so. Do I need to register with something along these lines. http://www.changeip.com/?source=linksys
if so hows it work?

Depending on how far you have got you may have already done some of this:
assign a Local IP Address to your camera, Run the install wizard program from the CD that came with the camera, the camera will be assigned a local IP Address so it is recognised by your router
Check you can view the picture from within your wireless network, Type the local IP address from above into your browser to bring up the Cameras homepage. click on "config/network/advanced" to bring up the HTTP and RTSP port numbers and write them down.
Now you need to access your routers status/setup page (check your routers manual)
Your setup page should show a WAN ip address, this is the address you will need to access the camera from outside the network.
You now need to open some virtual server ports (again, different ways of doing it on various makes of router but the idea is the same, your router manual should help you through this)
Find the virtual server button/option on your routers status page.
Enter the cameras local ip address from step 1 above into the Private/internal IP field
select TCP for the "HTTP" port and enter 80 into the port number field
select TCP&UDP for the "RTSP" port and enter 554 into the port number field
Apply your changes.
Type the WAN ip address from above into your browser.
No Idea if the above will work straight off (or at all :( ), you may need to fiddle with some camera settings as well
What model router do you have?

Ext port..........Private port..........port type..........Host IP Address
80-80.................80.....................TCP..... ...........(cameras ip)
554-554.............554....................TCP........ .........(cameras ip)
554-554.............554....................UDP........ .........(camerasip)
I think these are the settings you need, anybody else got any ideas? (we need a network engineer in here  )

Thats the reason why I have got one. I do have someone comming in to see to my tanks but it's just for my peice of mind. I wont lie and say it was a peice of cake. I had very little hair to start with I have even less now.;) I will say it is more difficult if your i.s.p do not run static i.p's. if they do then your lucky as all you need is your static i.p address plus the port number of the camera i.e 83.135.100.2:80 or if you have a dynamic i.p address you will have to register with something like NO.i.p.com and then they give you a web address i.e iansreef.zapto.org and that will update with your dynamic i.p address if you see what I mean:D .
if you need info pm me.
regards Ian
